LA LAGUNA - TAGANANA - SANTA CRUZ
Your excursion:
We will depart on our excursion towards the episcopal and university city of La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was the first colonial city without walls and has preserved its original 15th-century layout almost intact. Its streets are full of lively commercial, gastronomic, and leisure activities, as well as numerous monuments and historic buildings. Here, we will visit the most important and picturesque places in the city, such as Plaza del Adelantado, the Church of Santísimo Cristo de La Laguna, the Cristo Market, the old town, the Bishop’s Palace, and more.
Next, we will head to Monte de Las Mercedes before descending along Bailadero Road, passing through Laurisilva forests that lead to Taganana, a traditional hamlet located in the Anaga Rural Park. This village has preserved the customs and traditional architecture of the island and is surrounded by beaches and rock formations emerging from the sea just off the coast.
We will then continue to the fishing district of San Andrés, before taking the highway to the center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island’s capital. This cosmopolitan, vibrant, cheerful, and bright city stands out as the main urban hub of Tenerife. We will take a brief tour of its most emblematic spots, such as Plaza de España, Plaza de La Candelaria, and Calle Castillo.
Once the visit is over, we will drive south along the highway, marking the end of our excursion.
